Project objective
The objective of this project was to choose and research a typographer to inform the design of 2 spreads. I chose Agyei Archer as my typeface designer due to his loud and bold compositions, which I typically gravitate towards. My goal was to encapsulate the same style of his posters and pieces within the spreads. I decided to base my design elements on one series he did, rather than trying to summarize the entirety of his portfolio, and it streamlined my work immensely because it allowed me to understand how he uses shapes and color to interact with type.
Design considerations
I wanted my spreads to be engaging and fun so that Archer's audience of designers would be captivated while still appealing to viewers who are not familiar with his work.
